A time to Pray, A call to action

Yesterday, I was watching a video of Roland Martin calling out “Pastor” Paula White and her support of the current POTUS. I was watching how she used the word to justify his actions and I was appalled. The only point that she made that I even halfway agreed with is that we do need to pray for those in place of authority within all levels of government because this world has gone astray in so many ways. This nation has “In God We Trust” on the paper money yet we are further away from God as a nation than I’ve seen in my lifetime. Yes, the true history of our nation has been division due to slavery, but we have ALL have access to the same information ad education opportunities. Although, people of color still have to work twice as hard to get the same privileges the information and opportunity is there.

Our country has passed down this divisive, hate mentality from generation to generation and the demon has grown and become so powerful that everything is looked at through the lens of hate and racism. People of color have become tired of carrying the weight of their skin tone and are speaking out and demanding equality for EVERYONE and it’s still considered racist…..AMAZING! When an organization is created to demand justice for people of color and an end to injustices for all and people of color call it a hate group and put it in the same category as the KKK. My heart is saddened by all that is taking place in our country. We are taught in school at a young age that we are living in the land of the free and the home of the brave yet we are the exact opposite. Technology has crippled us. We hide behind keyboard and cyber march about things then log off and forget there is work to be done in our communities. City leaders on social media tearing each other down as the core of their campaign platforms then want to be elected to bring about change and UNITY within the community, WHAT THE WHAT!?!?!

At the end of the day we need to turn back to God and realize God hasn’t turned His back on us. Collectively we are responsible for the current state of this nation.  That may be a tough pill for some to follow but it’s reality. The sooner that we realize this and consciously work to come together and change that narrative the better off we’ll be.

So I challenge anyone that reads this to make a better effort and being part of the solution and not part of the problem. Sitting on the sidelines and not doing anything is part of problem. This isn’t the time to be ideal or violent. Get out in your neighborhoods and churches and donate your time and talents to mentoring our youth and teaching them how to be better than their current situations and grow past their crime filled neighborhoods. We ARE better than our environments. Get out of the slave mentality and break the cycle of paycheck to paycheck living by educating self and the next generation on financial responsibility and the importance of having multiple streams of income. Knowledge truly is power in this day and age.
