20 Facts About Your WOP Curator

  1. I was born almost a full month later than my due date so instead of possibly sharing a birthday with my mom in September (9/23) to almost being a Halloween baby (10/28).
  2. In elementary school, I was bit in my right hand by my cousin’s pet Chow. I hand to learn how to write with my left hand. I never perfected that skill to become ambidextrous though LOL. It probably looks like chicken scratch if I were to try now LOL
  3. I played 3 sports throughout my childhood. Those sports were; basketball, softball and tennis. I was also a ballerina. Basketball and dance were my strongest and tennis was a close second.
  4. I flunked out of college after 2 years due to not being at the school I wanted to be at and not taking my classes seriously. I now look back on that and I wish I wasn’t so determined to rebel.
  5. I have loved and lost and by that, I mean I loved a man and we conceived triplets that I had to abort due to financial and medical reasons.
  6. My life’s journey has involved my potholes than smooth surfaces and I often struggle with feelings of never being able to get married and have a family due to my poor decisions in life.
  7. I didn’t have my first pet until I was 25 years old and that was a Yorkie given to me as a graduation gift in 2011.
  8. I am now 33 years old and beginning to learn what my true purpose is and really taking time to cultivate that. By doing so, I am learning more about myself and the places that need healing and it is also drawing me closer to God, making me more compassionate and more focused. 
  9. I have one sister, 2 nieces, 1 nephew and 1 great nephew.
  10. I’m the strong friend and more times than not, I find it hard to talk to others when I’m going through things.
  11. I have gone to grief counseling to deal with a bad relationship break up and I still struggle with that, so I am actively seeking constant professional counseling to deal with that along with other emotional issues from childhood and self-inflicted ones from adulthood. 
  12. I absolutely love being a black woman, but I don’t always agree with how my people handle injustices towards us. I think our hearts & passion are in the right place, but our delivery is sometimes wrong. As my pastor once said; “be careful when you try to use an old method in a new season.” You’ll catch that next week. #MarinateOnThat
  13. I want to write a book even though I pretty much hate to read (pray for me saints LOL)
  14. I have a fear of spiders and I will act a complete fool no matter who is around if I see one. It doesn’t matter if it’s in person on even a picture
  15. As much as I write about my spiritual journey and encourage others, I struggle with praying daily and reading my word
  16. I grew up in a single parent home and sometimes wonder if I grew up with less if I would’ve been more determined and ambitious to become successful. If that makes any sense.
  17. I once felt like I was the black sheep of my family on my dad’s side although they didn’t actually do anything to make me feel that way.
  18. I tore my ACL in High School while playing basketball so now I talk like old people and say things like “it’s going to rain today” LOL
  19. My biggest fear is never getting married or having a child out of wedlock. 
  20. One of my biggest imperfections is: I’m an oversharer…I tend to talk too much. Sounds crazy for a “shy” person huh? LOL
